Artificial Narrow Intelligence

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) is artificial intelligence that is focused on one narrow task such as playing chess, medical diagnosis etc. They are also know an Artificial intelligence (weak AI) or (narrow AI). Narrow artificial intelligence focuses on a single subset of cognitive abilities and advances in that spectrum. Many contemporary AI systems are quite powerful, yet almost always highly specialized and rigid. For instance, playing chess, facial recognition, internet searches or self-driving a car are the examples of artificial  narrow intelligence.  Strong AI involves a system with comprehensive knowledge and cognitive capabilities such that its performance is indistinguishable from that of a human, although its speed and ability to process data is far greater. 

Presently, ANI have two distinct limitations. Firstly, narrow AI systems cannot adapt dynamically to novel situations. Secondly, these narrow AIs do not possess their own intelligence to be able to think, learn or solve problems.  They typically cannot learn directly from user interaction, have no memory and will make the same mistakes over and over again.  Individual helpers like Siri, Cortana and Watson are the examples of narrow AI.
