Shri Ram Raksha Stotram Benefits, Lyrics, Meanings and the 21 Chakras Protection

The Shri Ram Raksha Stotram is one of the most powerful Sanskrit hymns dedicated to Lord Shri Rama, composed by Sage Budha Kaushika as revealed in a divine dream by Lord Shiva. The term Raksha means “protection,” and Stotram means “hymn.” It is both a mantric armor (kavacha) and a psychospiritual code for invoking all types of divine protection through the power of Rama’s name and attributes.

The Ram Raksha Stotra carries potent sound frequencies that purify fear, anxiety, and negativity. Chanting it daily builds an energetic protective field around the practitioner and awakens divine intelligence in every chakra. In Hindu daily mantra chanting Ram Raksha Stotra is a primary mantra.

Shri Ram Raksha Stotram, also known as "Ram Raksha Stotra" or "Rama Kavacham", acts as a spiritual armor (kavach) that invokes Lord Rama’s divine protection over the devotee’s body, mind, and soul. Each verse meticulously shields a specific part of the body while praising Rama’s divine qualities, valor, and compassion.

This Stotram is not only a devotional chant but also an energetic circuit rebalancer for the 21 chakras — the expanded 114 chakras model taught by Sri Amit Ray, where beyond the traditional seven chakras, subtler higher and lower centers govern karmic memory, intuition, and cosmic protection.

Recited daily by millions, especially during Tuesdays, Thursdays, Rama Navami, Navratri, and Dussehra, or times of distress, this stotram is revered for granting fearlessness, victory over enemies, removal of negative energies, health, prosperity, and ultimate liberation. It is one of the most potent raksha stotrams in Sanatan Dharma, often chanted before travel, exams, or any challenging endeavor.

Origin of Shri Ram Raksha Stotram

The Shri Ram Raksha Stotram was composed by Sage Budha Kaushika, a devoted worshipper of Lord Rama. According to tradition, the sage was deep in penance when Lord Shiva appeared in his dream and revealed this powerful protective hymn. Shiva instructed him to write it down exactly as dictated, verse by verse, as a divine kavach (armor) for humanity.

Written in pure Sanskrit using the Anushtup Chhanda (32 syllables per verse), the stotram contains 38 verses — including an opening prayer, body-part protection, and a powerful phala shruti (benefits section). It is part of the Skanda Purana and is considered a tantric kavach infused with Rama’s protective energy.

The hymn transforms the chanter into a spiritual warrior, shielded by Rama’s arrows, bow, and divine presence in every limb and thought.
