Om Mani Padme Hum Mantra Meditation:

Om Mani Padme Hum is a simple but very effective mantra for relaxation and establishing deep divine connection with the Cosmic Self. With this meditation you are primarily blossoming your awareness to not only personal and physical forms of love, but Universal love and the acceptance of your true self. This meditation can be practiced for as short as 10-25 minutes in the morning and evening. It is usually done while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. While undergoing this meditation, a person’s awareness starts to settle down and begins to experience a unique state of relaxing alertness. As the body further becomes deeply relaxed, the mind begins to transcend all mental activity in order to experience the simplest form of awareness. This is the state where the consciousness is open to itself.

In this practice, power of imagination is required. If possible visualize a Golden Flame or Golden lighted lotus around your heart center.

The constant aware repetition of mantra is called japa. You can repeat the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” or “Om” in this heart chakra. Ultimately, when you drop the mantra, the vibration of the mantra will dive you into the deeper inner being. Focus on tuning into feelings of love and compassion for yourself and others, letting the divine energy radiate through your whole body.

Remember to be continually mindful of every mental and physical activity that you do. This is important because if you meditate and forget that you are meditating, you may not be successful in reaching the higher meditation stages.

When you are ready to finish your relaxation session, take a deep breath. Slowly bring your awareness back to the present. Become more aware of the surroundings, time and place you are in. At the end of meditation, make a wish: “May the fruits of this meditation ultimately lead me and all beings to the awakened state of eternal happiness.” You may phrase the sentence in your own words. Feel your experience for a few moments. Enjoy your relaxed feeling. Bring back your normal level of alertness. Regular practice of this meditation will help your consciousness to expand more and more and lead you to a feeling of oneness.
